Tuesdays are interesting days in the life of a wedding photographer. Some take Sunday and Monday as their weekend (since most work Saturdays), so Tuesday is like other peoples’ Monday.
Me? I guess I love my job too much. I tend to only take Sunday’s off, and be back working on Monday like everyone else. I actually really look forward to Mondays. I love waking up with something to do. Something that I love to do. There’s a great quote that says it better:
“Thank God every morning when you get up that you have something to do which must be done, whether you like it or not. Being forced to work, and forced to do your best, will breed in you temperance, self control, diligence, strength, content, and a hundred other virtues which the idle never know.” ~Charles Kingsley
I’m so thankful to wake up and look forward to the day of work set at my feet. How lucky, how blessed am I!
So back to Tuesdays. They are usually quieter days for me. Monday is the crazy- catch up with emails and send out brochure requests that came in over the weekend-day. Tuesdays are project days. Editing, designing albums, and, as of now, studying – (see 2 posts down). The week builds up momentum as the days go by. Most shoots are on Friday, and of course Saturday is Wedding Photography Day! Then the cycle starts all over again. What a great variety. And as they say, “Variety is the spice of life.” (On a side note- who are “They” anyway?)
What do you do and how does your week pan out? I’d love to hear!
